Modern society is rapidly changing under the influence of digital technologies.
Digitalization as a modern approach to the development of the Baltic States implies not
so much the installation of high-tech equipment and the implementation of software
systems, but fundamental changes in business processes, business models and
management tools. The transformation of society affects the political, economic and
social spheres. The priority task is to introduce the concept of sustainable development
of the country and its regions on the basis of informatization and digitalization of all
spheres of activity. The article analyzes the factors of the effectiveness of innovative
development in the three Baltic countries and the impact of digitalization on the level of
innovative development. The competitiveness of organizations operating in modern
conditions is largely determined by the level of digital efficiency. Efficiency assessment
was carried out based on the analysis of statistical data, strategic documents for the
development of the country as a whole. For the analysis, the authors also used data on
development and digitalization, which are reflected in various international rankings.
The authors identified the main problems hindering the effective development of the
digital economy and proposed possible solutions to eliminate these problems in each of
the Baltic countries. Despite the positive transformations in the field of digitalization,
there are a number of urgent and unresolved problems of the industry, for example, the
low level of development of IT skills among employees.
