In the literature, the quantities describing the physicochemical parameters describing the combustion processes are: calorific value, cetane number LC, auto-ignition temperature, solidification point, viscosity and surface tension, and heat of vaporization. This article shows that another parameter influencing the combustion process in a thermodynamic engine, which is an engine, is also influenced by chemical bonds between atoms. Selected 11 alcohols differing in the number of chemical bonds between carbon atoms (C)are presented. It has been noticed that the differences in the energy value have aninfluence on the combustion process. The article presents the results of the calorificvalue of 11 selected alcohols carried out experimentally. Then they were compared andcompared with diesel fuel. Mixtures of diesel fuel with the selected alcohol wereprepared, and then the prepared mixtures were used to power the diesel engine. Thepresented results are presented in the form of the obtained work useful for selectedmixtures. Attention has been paid to the fact that the chemical bonds between the twocarbon atoms have a bearing on the combustion process.
