Hydrological droughts are formed by different processes, but how strong and heterogeneous they are, leading to different manifestation and characteristics of the droughts. Droughts have no distinct starting date, but different methods gives a course of action that may help to identify dry signals and possible drought conditions for early warning. We choose hydrological drought indices that are applicable for Bulgarian conditions. Using statistical methods, minimum flow, deficits and spatial characteristics can be evaluate, as well as identifying vulnerable river catchments and regions or affected areas and intensity they suffer, or is it a prolonged drought in terms of EU Directive. By doing that evaluation, more effective adaptation and mitigation schemes can be recommend to benefit hydrological drought management and maps creation for highlight regional variations and similarities in low flow regimes, drought hazards, vulnerability, and risk for local communities and stakeholders (for recovery measures). A classification based on these drivers, advances river scientist also. The central region of our investigation is Yantra river basin, especially the lower reaches, north of Veliko Turnovo heights and before flow contribute to Danube.
