PROPOSALS TO ELIMINATE THE RISK SITUATION BY MONITORING AND ECOLOGICAL CLOSING THE ORE SLUDGE DUMP FROM S.C. “ALOR” S.A., ORADEA, THE WESTERN PART OF ROMANIA
Abstract
The present theme approaches a very characteristic theme, analyzing the impact of wastes generated by tabular and calcified alumina industry on our environment. The industrial unit that is the object of this present study S.C. “Alor” S.A. is located in the Oradea municipality. Oradea municipality is located in the north-western part of Romania and is crossed over by the River Crişul Repede. S.C. “Alor” S.A. has as main activity profile tabular and calcified alumina production in various production sections. The main pollutant elements specific to the resulted discharges from technologic processes of S.C. “Alor” S.A. are: aluminum, iron, sodium hydroxide, ammonia, hydrochloric acid, suspensions, chlorides, sulphate, carbonates, etc. All the pollution produced (with smaller or higher intentions) over the air, surface and underground waters, soils, flora and fauna by the discharges of the production process were intensified, studied and evaluate by the specific organisms in the field. From this the dumps were indicated as the major pollution sources. Also, are presented the required measures for reconstruction and ecological closing of exploited and respectively exhausted ore sludge waste dumps. The authors present also constructive solutions.
