By accessing and using the EPS Library, users agree to use the platform responsibly, lawfully, and in accordance with academic, ethical, technical, and copyright standards.
The EPS Library is provided by SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society as a digital scholarly library for research dissemination, academic visibility, bibliographic organization, digital preservation, and educational access in the fields of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Green Sciences, sustainability, environmental research, geosciences, and related scientific areas.

The platform provides structured access to publications, proceedings papers, books, abstracts, metadata records, DOI-linked records, keywords, bibliographic information, citation tools, and other academic materials related to the scientific activities and publication collections of SGEM WORLD SCIENCE.
Purpose of the Platform
The EPS Library serves as a digital research library and scholarly information infrastructure for SGEM WORLD SCIENCE publications in Earth and Planetary Sciences and related fields.
Its purpose is to preserve scholarly output, improve discoverability, support citation, assist academic visibility, connect researchers with scientific content, and provide long-term access to publication records and metadata.

Permitted Use

Prohibited Use
Users must not:
- attempt unauthorized access to restricted areas, accounts, files, servers, or systems
- copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, translate, adapt, or commercially use materials without written permission where such permission is required
- remove author names, DOI information, citations, copyright statements, metadata, publisher information, or other notices
- present EPS Library content, publications, metadata, or files as their own work
- use automated extraction, scraping, crawling, harvesting, or mass downloading tools in a way that overloads, damages, copies, or systematically extracts the platform content
- upload, transmit, or distribute unlawful, misleading, abusive, harmful, malicious, or technically damaging content
- use the platform for spam, fraud, phishing, unauthorized advertising, data misuse, or technical abuse
- misuse the names, logos, trademarks, visual identity, publications, or digital records of SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society
- alter, manipulate, misrepresent, or falsify scholarly records, publication metadata, citation information, DOI links, author information, or publication details
- include EPS Library materials in another website, repository, database, platform, book, proceedings, course pack, commercial product, or digital service without prior written permission where such use is not expressly allowed
Academic Integrity and Citation
All scholarly materials accessed through the EPS Library must be cited properly.
Users are responsible for following the citation standards required by their discipline, institution, journal, publisher, conference, or academic context.
The availability of a publication in the EPS Library does not remove the obligation to acknowledge the original authors, source, publication title, DOI, proceedings/book information, publisher, and other relevant bibliographic details.
Citation tools, recommended citation formats, DOI links, and metadata records are provided to support accurate referencing. Users remain responsible for verifying citation style requirements in their own academic or institutional context.
Copyright and Use of Materials
All publications, proceedings papers, books, metadata records, PDF files, covers, images, layouts, database structures, digital records, and other materials available through the EPS Library are protected by copyright and related intellectual property rights.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the rights for published SGEM WORLD SCIENCE proceedings materials, books, conference publications, digital records, and related library content are held, managed, or administered by SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society and/or its authorized publishing structures.
Access to a publication through the EPS Library does not grant permission for unrestricted reuse, republication, redistribution, translation, adaptation, commercial use, systematic copying, text/data extraction, or reproduction in other platforms, websites, repositories, databases, books, proceedings, teaching materials, digital services, or commercial products.
Users may access, read, download, cite, and share links to publication records for personal, academic, research, and citation purposes, provided that proper bibliographic reference, DOI/link attribution, author names, and publisher information are preserved.
Any reproduction, republication, redistribution, translation, adaptation, large-scale copying, institutional reuse, commercial use, or inclusion of EPS Library materials in another publication, platform, repository, database, website, or service requires prior written permission from SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society.
Authors retain the right to be properly identified and cited as the creators of their scholarly work. However, publication within SGEM WORLD SCIENCE proceedings, books, or conference collections does not automatically grant third parties permission to reuse or redistribute the published version without written authorization.

Repository Records and Metadata
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society may create, edit, correct, enrich, reorganize, merge, update, or remove repository metadata in order to improve accuracy, discoverability, citation quality, preservation, indexing readiness, technical consistency, and scholarly value.
Metadata may include author names, affiliations, publication titles, abstracts, keywords, DOI links, proceedings information, book information, publication year, research area, language, file descriptions, bibliographic identifiers, citation details, subject classifications, usage indicators, and related scholarly information.
Metadata corrections may be made when errors, duplicates, outdated information, broken links, missing identifiers, or inconsistencies are identified.
Author Access and Personal Accounts
Authors and registered users may receive access credentials for personal or institutional use, depending on registration status, publication status, access rights, or institutional arrangements.
Users are responsible for keeping their login credentials secure and must not share restricted access credentials with unauthorized third parties.
Author access to personal publication records and library services may include access to publication files, citation information, metrics, metadata, and related author-oriented tools, depending on the available functionality and access level.
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society may suspend or restrict access in cases of misuse, technical abuse, unauthorized sharing, copyright violation, or breach of these Terms of Use.
Metrics, Citations and Usage Information
The EPS Library may display publication-related indicators such as views, downloads, citation-related information, online attention, social engagement, or other visibility metrics where such data is available.
Metrics may be collected, imported, synchronized, updated, or enriched from internal library statistics and external scholarly or digital information sources.
Such metrics are provided for informational and visibility purposes. They may change over time and may differ between sources depending on database coverage, update frequency, citation practices, indexing status, and external data policies.
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society does not guarantee that all citations, mentions, downloads, or external indicators will be complete, immediate, identical across sources, or permanently available.
Availability and Technical Operation
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society makes reasonable efforts to keep the EPS Library accessible, stable, secure, and functional.
However, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. The platform may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, software updates, technical improvements, server issues, security measures, data migration, hosting problems, or other operational reasons.
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society may modify, update, reorganize, expand, restrict, or temporarily suspend parts of the platform when necessary for technical, editorial, legal, security, preservation, or operational reasons.
Corrections and Content Updates
Users who identify incorrect metadata, missing files, broken links, duplicate records, typographical errors, outdated information, citation issues, DOI problems, or possible copyright concerns are encouraged to contact SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society.
Correction requests will be reviewed according to academic, editorial, legal, technical, and preservation considerations.

Changes to These Terms
SGEM WORLD SCIENCE / SWS Scholarly Society may update these Terms of Use when necessary.
The latest version published on this platform applies. Continued use of the EPS Library after updates means that users accept the revised Terms of Use.
