The paper presents the results of petromagnetic studies of Lake Sabakty (South Ural, Russia) and their paleoclimatic interpretation. Lakes are an element of modern and ancient landscape. The climatic conditions, environmental features, hydrological and hydrochemical regime are the main factors to determine the features of sedimentation in lakes.
