GEOTECTONIC SETTING OF SOME SEISMOLOGICAL OBSERVATORIES FROM THE EASTERN PART OF ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Constantinescu, E.G., Diaconescu, M., Grecu, B.)

This paper presents a basic description of the geological and tectonic setting of the areas of placement of four seismological observatories located in the eastern part of Romania. The four seismological observatories are MLR ? Red Mountain Seismologic Observatory, NEHR ? Nehoiu Mountain Seismological Observatory, ODBI ? Odobesti Seismological Observatory and VRI ? Vrancioaia Seismological Observatory. This observatories were chose because of their importance and proximity to the seismic active Vrancea region. Man...

CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF THE GROUNDWATER LEVEL IN THE BASE OF THE WASTEDUMP BODY (SLATINICE WASTEDUMP, NORTH BOHEMIA, THE CZECH REPUBLIC)

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Zizka, L., Mikolas, M., Jarolimova, M.)

The area of interest (Slatinice wastedump) is located on the southern edge of the Most?s basin central part (North Bohemia, The Czech Republic). The wastedump was deposited into the space of the fomer lignite openpit mine, called Slatinice. The body of the wastedump has an ovoid shape with the longer axis oriented in the NW ? SE direction. The major thickness, about 100 m, reaching a dump in its central part. Monitoring wells have been realized in the area of interest between the years 2013 ? 2016. The aim of this...

HUMAN RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT AND RADIESTHESIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Wojtkun, Grzegorz)

Since the dawn of time, housing has been closely linked to the characteristic natural environmental factors ? geological, hydrological and climatic conditions occurring in a given area. Lack of knowledge acquired by our ancestors about the causes of processes and phenomena existence in both ? natural and built environment, has led to the formulation of various hypotheses around this subject. One of them became the founding of the art that was focused on finding the right place to settle down permanently (mineral a...

HYDROLOGICAL AND HYDROGEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF THE AREA AFFECTED BY ANTHROPOGENIC AKTIVITY (CSA OPENPIT MINE, NORTH BOHEMIA, THE CZECH REPUBLIC)

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Zizka, L., Urban, P., Gibesova, B.)

The area of the CSA mine is situated at the northern edge in the central part of the Most Basin (North Bohemia, The Czech republic). The interesting area, currently represented by the internal wastedump and the own openpit mine CSA, has undergone significant changes over time that are associated almost with coal mining activities. This activity hit especially hydrological and hydrogeological conditions of the area. The original surface was naturally drained by the several streams, which were necessary translate to...

The solving of European Commission (Research Fund for Coal and Steel) research project ?Bucket wheel excavators operating under difficult mining conditions including unmineable inclusions and geological structures with excessive mining resistance? is under way from 2015 to 2018. The Brown Coal Research Institute j.s.c. is a member of the research team comprising Czech, Polish, Romanian and Greek technical universities and companies. The main task of the year 2016 was the realisation of the three long term measurem...
