STUDY ON REDUCING URBAN NOISE IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Vlad Alexandru Lautaru)

Urban noise is affecting an increasing number of people and this is why it is becoming a major environmental issue, being a known fact that it affects all human activities and constitutes a stress factor with negative effects on health. It can affect the population both physiologically and psychologically, having an influence on the elementary activities such as sleep, rest, study and communication. Noise in the environment - a harmful and unwanted sound from the outside - is spreading, both in duration and in geo...

HEALTH IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE OPERATION OF A SUPERMARKET-TYPE FOOD STORE ON THE POPULATION IN THE SURROUNDING AREA.

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Skacel, Alexander)

The purpose of this evaluation is the assessment of acceptability of the operation of a projected supermarket and its impact on public health status in its close environment. This assessment is instigated by the demand on commercially usable premises. The growing consumption of households in the present society focused on consuming leads to tendencies to extend networks of commercial units offering wide range of both food and non ? food products. In the environment of the Czech Republic, such units are built not o...

QUANTIFICATION OF VIBRATION AND NOISE TRANSMITTED TO NAVIGATION PERSONNEL ON A CARGO SHIP ON THE DANUBE IN A META-ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Picu, Laurentiu, Rusu, Eugen, Picu, Mihaela)

This paper analyses the vibrations and noises transmitted to the seafaring staff on a cargo river ship on the Danube between Novi Sad and Sulina. The ship has 5 people as sailing personnel: 1 captain, 1 coxswain, 1 mechanic, 2 sailors. The trip was made in the fall of 2018. Parallel measurements were made on the main bridge as well as inside the engines room, in three situations: ship leaving the shore, running and mooring maneuver. We measured and calculated the main vibration parameters: Vibration magnitude r.m....

ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE IN SLOVAKIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Hodakova, Dominika, Zuzulova, Andrea, Capayova, Silvia, Schlosser, Tibor, Galkin, Andrii)

Environmental risk factors for environmental problems with physical, chemical and biological factors that cause or may cause health disorders as well as environmental degradation. One possible factor is noise. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that a target of 40% of the EU population is exposed to traffic noise of more than 55 dB and that more than 30% is exposed to levels of more than 55 dB at night. The issue of protection of the health of the population against the adverse effects of noise and vibr...

INVESTIGATION OF PULSAR STARS ASTRONOMICAL DATASET BY MEANS OF MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHMS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Petrusevich, Denis)

The ?Predicting a Pulsar Star? dataset has been investigated in this paper. The pulsars are special neutron stars emitting narrow beams of light with high energy into space. They rotate very rapidly and the signal repeats. Scientists seek periodic radio signals in order to detect these objects. Of course, frequency patterns vary from one star to another. The signal is averaged on a lot of rotations. At the same time a lot of pulsar candidates are just radio noise. There is a lot of objects to check. In this task m...
