Preliminary investigation of mineralizations of Thenardite associated with sulfate occurrences in \cCayırhan – Beypazarı, Ankara is presented. Local geology consists of Paleozoic metamorphite schists, Permo-triassic granitic rocks, Middle Jurassic – Upper Cretaceous limestones and marls in flysch facies, Paleocene aged land sedimentaries and marine Eocene units, Miocene to Pliocene aged lacustrine units, which sodium sulfates are associated to. Thenardite, Glauberite and Mirabilite minerals have been detected by X...

Glauberite mineralization from Cayirhan, Ankara (Central Anatolia) has been investigated and identified the major mineralogical, petrographical and geochemical properties. Glauberite occurrence, a sodium calcium sulfate mineral (Na2Ca(SO4)2) by evaporation, is underneath the gypsum mineralization which accumulated at the contact zone between Pliocene aged Ucyatak and Softa formations. The mineralization is related to clay and mudstone, and accompanies with thenardite, gypsum, anhydrite, mirabilite and blodite. Maj...
