DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF AN LC-MS/MS METHOD FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF ORGANOPHOSPHATE FLAME RETARDANTS IN SEAWATER SAMPLES

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-12-27, Victor Constantin Cojocaru, Iuliana Paun, Florinela Pirvu, Vasile Ion Iancu, Florentina Laura Chiriac)

Organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) have emerged as replacements for banned brominated flame retardants, raising growing environmental concern due to their persistence, bioaccumulation potential, and toxicity. Despite their global detection, limited data exist for marine environments such as the Black Sea, where monitoring is hindered by the lack of sensitive analytical methods. This study reports the development and validation of a reliable LC-MS/MS method for the simultaneous determination of eight OPFRs an...

UV-VIS PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE ON NITROGEN DOPED TIO2 THIN FILM. KINETICS AND POSSIBLE DEGRADATION PATHWAY

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Mirela Alina Constantin, Lucian-Alexandru Constantin, Arcadie Sobeţkii, Florentina Laura Chiriac, Ionut Cristea)

Cyclophosphamide (CP) is a cytostatic drug prescribed at large scale, which proved to induce toxic effect on ecosystems and cannot be removed by conventional wastewater treatment processes. Therefore, there is a need to test advanced degradation processes for its removal from wastewater discharges. CP photocatalytic degradation via UV-VIS irradiation was studied using a Nitrogen -doped TiO2 catalyst. The catalyst was synthesized as thin film deposited on glass substrate under nitrogen atmosphere technique. The inf...

THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF CANNABIS USE ON THE HUMAN BODY

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Gabriel Bogdan Carp, Anca Răvoiu, Silvia Fotea, Daniela Laura Buruiană, A. Chiriac)

Cannabis consumption in Romania has increased significantly recently. Due to the fact that consumption is forbidden, consumers try to grow the plant themselves, in makeshift greenhouses. Cannabis is the most consumed drug in Romania, both in the general population and in the school population. Cannabis also remains the most widely seized drug nationally. Police discover at least once a month, illegal productions in apartments and confiscate hundreds of kilograms of cannabis. Only about a third of 16-year-old adole...
