INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE ON CO2 EMISSION FROM SEWAGE SLUDGE COMPOSTING PROCESS

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-12-05, Damian Janczak)

The composting process, together with methane fermentation and agricultural use as a fertilizer, is one of the most popular methods of sewage sludge management. As a result of a properly carried out process, obtained compost has a very high fertilizer value, mainly due to the high nitrogen content and a wide range of macro- and microelements. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of composted sewage sludge temperature (with the addition of structural material) on CO2 emission and the dynamics of th...

METHODOLOGY OF COMPOSTING RESEARCH UNDER LABORATORY CONDITIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Damian Janczak)

The article presents the methodology of conducting experiments related to the process of composting under laboratory conditions. For this purpose, a set consisting of eight fully metered reactors imitating the composting process under real conditions was built. In the insulated chambers, bayonet thermometers were placed, air coolers, condensate tanks and drains were installed. During composting experiments with daily measurements, the composition of gases coming from individual reactors is examined, i.e. CO2, NH3,...
