The paper highlights the seismicity of the Strei-Hateg depressionary system. This system is situated in the western part of the Southern Carpathians, and consists of two intermountain, post orogenic basins, Hateg basin and Strei basin. These two basins are separated by a threshold. The seismicity is characterized by moderate magnitude with a maximum magnitude of 4 (Mw) (8 September 2013) and by the presences of the seismic sequences.
