THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE SURFACE COATINGS OF STEEL CONSTRUCTIONS

(STEF92 Technology, 2020-09-20, Vojtěch Jankůj, Miroslav Mynarz, Petr Stroch, Bohdan Filipi)

Nowadays, steel constructions and their elements are used for their properties. One of their advantages is, for example, their low weight in comparison with their load capacity. Also, quick assembly is one of their advantages. On the other hand, there are disadvantages which are associated with changes of properties under thermal stress. There are no significant changes up to a temperature of 350°C, but steel loses their load capacity between 500-700 °C [1], [2]. Because of that, in many cases these constructions ...

THERMAL LOADING OF PRESSURE CYLINDERS IN A FIRE

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Miroslav Mynarz)

Pressure cylinders are commonly used in industry and in health services as well as in laboratories, ordinary households, and accommodation facilities. Their usage, however, is collocated with considerable risk during filling, transporting, and usage, as well as storing. The risk is predominantly influenced by the type of gas inside the pressure cylinder. Gases inside the pressure cylinder can be liquefied, compressed or dissolved. If the cylinder containing gas is exposed to a higher temperature or fire, destructi...
