Romania has an important rail network, of public use, consisting of about 10764 km of railway, some of which are affected by instability phenomena. Although the percentage of areas affected by instability in the entire network is insignificant, railway sections have some peculiarities, any difference in the order of the centrimetres appearing at the upper level of the rail can lead to the closing of the line, with important financial consequnce.
