AN APPROACH TO DETERMINE THE LOCATIONS OF IN-PIT CRUSHERS IN DEEP OPEN-PIT MINES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2009, M. Taheri, M. Irannajad, M. Ataee-Pour)

Rising operating costs of truck haulage in deep open-pit mines, have forced them to apply new methods. The most common method is using an in-pit crusher and conveying the ore and/or waste out of the pit .This method has been successfully implemented in several large open-pit mines. In deep mines it may be necessary to move the crusher and reinstall it in new location(s). This paper offers an approach to determine these location(s). The approach is simply to propose various alternatives and calculate related costs ...

RIGOROUS ALGORITHMS TO OPTIMISE STOPE BOUNDARIES; CAPABILITIES, RESTRICTIONS AND APPLICATIONS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2007, S. E. Jalali, M. Ataee -Pour, K. Shahriar)

Few algorithms are available for economic optimization of stope boundaries and underground mining area. The algorithms may be classified as rigorous and heuristic. The rigorous algorithms are those which benefit from the mathematical proof and provide the true optimal solution according to the conditions and environment they are applied. The heuristic algorithms are based on searching for the optimal solution according to some rules. They may not guarantee to find the true optimum but provide the approximate solut...
