BRAILA PLAIN - IMPLICATIONS OF WATER RESOURCES QUALITY ON ENVIRONMENT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, A. G. Turtureanu, C. E. Tureac)

A significant element characterizing a lasting development in Braila Plain region, but also in any other similar area, would be an environment factor i.e. the water, with an increasing importance when considered against the high dryness background. Generally speaking, both the consumed water and the consumption structure reflect the quality and quantity of water resources and, implicitly, the economic potential of the region at issue. As for Braila Plain, here there is a paradox to be considered : even if the regi...

BRAILA PLAIN - RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, A. G. Turtureanu, C. E. Tureac)

The climate, morphometric and lythological conditions confer certain peculiarities upon the waters resources of the northern-eastern Romanian Plain. One can say about the Braila Plain hydrographic network that it is poor and this is due to the discharge, situated under the value of 1 l/sqkm, but also to the very low relief energy. The allochthone rivers : the Danube, Siret, Buzau and Calmatui are affected by the refief climate conditions and also by the size and the geographic position of the hydrographic basins.

ESTIMATION OF POSSIBILITY FOR SUSTAINABLE RAISED BOG’S USE IN REGION OF EXPLORATION OF SOLID MINERAL DEPOSITS

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, T. Orlov, V. Kapralova)

Significant surface flow redistribution is the result of solid mineral deposit exploitation. North taiga region is characterized of high bogging level. Raised bogs of north taiga region are subjected to surface flow redistribution. Woodless raised bogs of the Russian north were historically used as routes of track-type cross-country vehicles. Nowadays vegetation and soil cover of raised bogs are characterized with significant level of disturbance. At present time, raised bogs are used as receivers of the surface a...

HYDROCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION OF WATERS IN BIGADIC - HISARKOY (BALIKESIR - TURKEY) GEOTHERMAL AREA

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, G. Gocmez, E. Olmez)

Bigadic - Hisarkoy (Balikesir) Geothermal Area located in Inner West Anatolia and 57 km west of BalД±kesir. Kretase aged serpentines, diabases, limestones, mudstones, splits, ultrabases and radiolarites consist of ofiolits and these ofiolits formed basement rocks of investigation area. This formation covered by Tertiary aged Dedetepe formation (riodacite, dacite, tuff, agglomerate) and Quaternary aged alluvium and travertine. Investigation area was effected NS directional openings in Lower Miocene - Pliocene in We...

MINERALOGIC AND GEOCHEMICAL FEATURES OF NEOGENE AGED SEDIMENTARY UNITS OF POLATLI, SW ANKARA (TURKEY)

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, M. C. Karakaya, N. Karakaya)

Upper Paleozoic aged metamorphic rocks, which consist of micaschist, phyllite, metasandstone, marbles, meta dolomitic limestones were located at the basement. Upper Cretaceous ultrabasics have been overturned upon the Paleozoic metamorphic rocks. The Late Upper Cretaceous plutonic rocks are unconformably overlain by the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene volcanics, volcanism composed mainly tuffs and minor amount of volcanic breccia, agglomerate, trachyte and trachyandesitic lava flows and lacustrine volcano-sedimentary ...

MINERALS PROPERTIES SELECTION USING AJAX AND WEB SERVICES INTEGRATION

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, P. Horovcak, I. Lesso, P. Cirbes)

Continually and impressive amplification of internet technologies development and implementation enables the creation of productive, efficient, rich useful and interactive web applications. The contribution briefly characterizes a SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), WS (Web Service) and AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML). The paper illustrates advantages of AJAX and WS integration on application example for interactive selection of one or more minerals according to actual chosen selection criteria. The applic...

POLLUTED FUNGI SPECIES IN THE MINING WASTE HILLS CONIFEROUS NURSERIES

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, C. Tanase, A. Pui, R. Olaru, V. CLAUDIU Chinan, C. C. BРѕrsan, A. Cojocariu)

Our investigation regard the distribution of pollutant in the soils degraded by mine activity in the circuit soil-macromycetes. Pollutants categories have been evidenced using FT-IR spectroscopy. Our results underline the macromycetes species extremely flexible capacity to accumulate pollutants of various categories. The distribution of the pollutants in the soil varies from one region to another and depends on the prelevation depth.

SEDIMENTOLOGY AND MINERALOGY OF LATE MIOCENE PALEOSOLS AND CALCRETE RICH SEDIMENTS IN THE WESTERN PART OF CENTRAL ANOTOLIAN VOLCANIC PROVINCE (CAVP), TURKEY

(SGEM Scientific GeoConference, 2008, A. Gurel, I. E. Kerey, S. Uzcan)

The Dogantarla-Aksaray area is situated in western part of the CAVP. This province contains nine (9) different ignimbrite levels, for which a Late Miocene age is indicated by vertebrates as well as K/Ar ages of 11 to 2.8 Ma (Viereck-Goette et al 2006). However, most paleosol and calcrete occur within the interval of 7.6 to 2.8 Ma (Gurel and Kadir, 2006). Among this ignimbrite levels, fluvial and lacustrine sediments are found, so called Bayramhacili Formation of western CAVP consist of alternation of typical red c...
