As part of this study, a comprehensive thermogravimetric analysis of biomass oxidation was conducted to study its thermal decomposition and determine its kinetic characteristics in an oxidative environment. This work is of great importance for the development of sustainable energy, the optimization of combustion and co-combustion processes, and the minimization of environmental damage through more efficient use of biomass. The experiments involved measuring the mass change of biomass samples (sawdust from hardwood...

SYNTHESIS OF MANNITOL FROM INULIN USING A MAGNETIC CATALYST

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Oleg V. Manaenkov, Olga Kislitsa, Аntonina А. Stepacheva, Valentina G. Matveeva, Mikhail G. Sulman, Mikhail Sulman)

Mannitol is an important raw material in the production of resins, lubricants, coatings, surfactants, explosives, cosmetics and drugs. One of the promising ways to obtain it is the catalytic conversion of inulin, a natural polyfructosan found in large quantities in some agricultural crops. In this study a Ru-containing magnetic catalyst was proposed for the process of hydrolytic hydrogenation of inulin to mannitol. Under optimal reaction conditions a high mannitol selectivity of 44.3 % was obtained 100 % conversio...
