THE CONTENT OF TOXIC ELEMENTS IN CHARS AFTER THE GASIFICATION OF LIGNITE

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Bielowicz, Barbara)

Gasification is one of the methods of utilization of lignite. Studies on clean coal technologies are carried out on a wide scale in Poland and worldwide. One of the projects was "The Development of Coal Gasification Technology for High Production of Fuels and Energy? carried out under the framework of the National Centre for Research and Development. The project was based on the gasification of lignite from the Be?chat?w deposit. For syngas production, a circulating fluidized bed reactor and CO2 as the gasifying a...

THE INFLUENCE OF CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF ASH ON THE COAL GASIFICATION PROCESS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Bielowicz, Barbara)

The coal gasification process is currently developed as one of clean coal technologies. Gasification is a high-temperature process (above 800 °C) in which the coal reacts with a gasifying agent, e.g. air, oxygen, or water vapor. As a result, under conditions of elevated temperature and pressure, chemical bonds in the molecular structure of coal break up and the mixture of water vapor, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen, commonly known as syngas, is produced. The chemical composition of the obtained syngas is de...

THERMAL UTILIZATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE IN THE PROCESS OF STEAM CO-GASIFICATION WITH COAL TO HYDROGEN-RICH GAS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Smolinski, A., Howaniec, N.)

Growing energy demand, depleting fossil fuels resources as well as ecological concerns are the main rationales behind the research focused on broader utilization of biowaste, e.g. sewage sludge in energy systems. Gasification as an alternative to combustion offers increased efficiency, lower negative environmental impact and wider application range of the main product ? synthesis gas ? in power generation and chemical synthesis. It is also considered as one of the most viable options for hydrogen production, as an...
