MAPPING VERTICAL GROUND MOVEMENT CAUSED BY HUMAN-INDUCED SEISMICITY APPLYING SATELLITE RADAR INTERFEROMETRY AND GEOSTATISTICS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-11-20, Tama, A., Guzy, A., Witkowsk, W., Hejmanowski, R., Malinowska, A.)

Prediction and monitoring of earthquakes and human-induced seismicity is still a crucial issue primarily due to the random nature of that phenomena. The continuous monitoring of earthquakes made by seismology is well known and developed. The remaining effects of earthquakes ? ground displacements, are much more problematic in measurement. Moreover, estimation of the scale and extend of ground movements caused by that phenomena often requires a combination of several measuring and analytical techniques. Currently, ...

THE STATISTICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONTENT AND THE ABUNDANCE OF NICKEL IN THE PACIFIC POLYMETALLIC NODULES DEPOSIT (IOM AREA).

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Dudek, Mariusz)

The subject of the study was to characterize three deposit parameters of Pacific polymetallic nodules (the content and the abundance of nickel and the nodule abundance) using classical statistical methods. The input data points come from 448 sampling points of a bed area of about 48,000 km2 in the Clarion-Clipperton fracture zone (approx. 1,000 km west of the coast of Mexico). The sample points formed a pseudoregular grid with an average distance between them of about 10 km. On the basis of these, the basic statis...

THE INFLUENCE OF THE SELECTED INTERPOLATION METHOD ON THE ACCURACY OF CU AND PB CONTENTS INTERPOLATION BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF COPPER-SILVER DEPOSIT (LGCD, POLAND)

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Auguscik, J., Mucha, J.)

The main objective of the article was to assess the impact of the selected interpolation algorithm on the accuracy of parameter value estimation. The following interpolation methods were used: inverse distance to a power (ID), linear kriging (LK), ordinary kriging (OK), and more advanced geostatistical methods including Lognormal Kriging (LG) and Turning Bands Simulation (TBS). The contents of copper and lead were determined for the economic series of a part of the LGCD (the Lubin-G?og?w Copper District, Poland). ...
