CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROCESSING PRODUCTS FROM POLISH COPPER ORES IN TERMS OF THE QUALITY OF CONCENTRATES AND WASTES COMPOSITION, BASED ON MINERALOGICAL ANALYZES

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Kubik, R., Bakalarz, A., Duchnowska, M.)

Mineral processing products must be verified in order to develop highly effective technology of enrichment. At every stage of mineral processing - improvement is possible through monitoring and verification of the components of processes. Process control is possible, among others, through comprehensive mineralogical analyzes of ores and products of their processing. Automated mineralogy based on scanning electron microscopy technique, like QEMSCAN® or MLA, gives opportunity to obtain complex data in a relatively s...

MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS APPLIED TO THE STUDY OF ACID MINE DRAINAGES AND SURROUNDINGS SUPERFICIAL WATERS (ERVEDOSA MINE, NORTHERN PORTUGAL)

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Favas, Paulo)

The old Ervedosa mine (Northern Portugal) was intermittently exploited for tin by underground and open pit mining till 1969. The tailings were deposited on the ground. The mine was abandoned without any environmental remediation. Mineralization occur in quartz veins, and consists of cassiterite as the main ore mineral, and several sulphides (arsenopyrite, pyrite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and stannite), matildite, bismuthinite, native bismuth and other minerals. The present study aims to characterize th...
