Regularities in the distribution and forma tion mechanism of gi ant Cu-Au-porphyry deposits have been discussed by many authors. Most recent works are dedicated to the problem of their formation. The deposits of Macedonia discussed in this communication usually contain up to 150 000 t of copper with the Buchim deposits likely being the smallest in the world am ong similar recently mined deposits.
