In this paper a new method of dual-polarimetric SAR image coregistration procedures is proposed. Both cases - coarse and fine coregistration are considered. In the proposed approaches the widely used coherence parameter is not applied. Instead, the dual-polarimetric signatures are exploited. They allow to identify location of strong point scatterers within the SAR images. These scatterers can be further used in coregistration procedure as reference points.
