The Verkhoyansk fold-and-thrust belt (VFTB), composed of terrigenous-carbonate rocks of the Upper Proterozoic, Paleozoic and Mesozoic age and formed in the Late Mesozoic time, stretches along the north-eastern and eastern framing of the Siberian platform.
