This paper presents a basic description of the geological and tectonic setting of the areas of placement of four seismological observatories located in the eastern part of Romania. The four seismological observatories are MLR пїЅ Red Mountain Seismologic Observatory, NEHR пїЅ Nehoiu Mountain Seismological Observatory, ODBI пїЅ Odobesti Seismological Observatory and VRI пїЅ Vrancioaia Seismological Observatory. This observatories were chose because of their importance and proximity to the seismic active Vrancea reg...

STRESS FIELD, SEISMICITY AND SEISMOTECTONIC FEATURES IN THE APUSENI MOUNTAINS AREA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Eugen Oros, E.G. Constantinescu, Mihail Diaconescu, M. Popa)

The active stress pattern in the Apuseni Mts area is investigated and studied in relation to the local seismicity and geology. Our analysis is based on several high quality and resolution data bases obtained recently in the context of national and international projects and which refers to digital seismograms recorded by dense networks, parametric earthquakes catalogues and catalogues of focal mechanisms. The reduced stress tensor has been obtained by formal inversion of 89 focal mechanisms solutions. The maximum ...
