DETERMINING THE DECLINATION IN ROMANIAN AIRPORTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2026, NATALIA-SILVIA ASIMOPOLOS, LAURENTIU ASIMOPOLOS, ADRIAN-ARISTIDE ASIMOPOLOS, LUMINITA DINU, EUGEN LAURENTIU NICULICI)

Civil aircraft navigation uses specific procedures for the continuous determination of the aircraft position using the path and distance traveled in the considered time interval as calculation elements. Throughout the route, errors must be estimated that are generated by a series of parameters such as: hydrometeorological conditions, air current direction, declination, geoid parameters, the ship's nautical qualities and the response mode of the navigation equipment. The indications of the magnetic compass must be ...

LITOLOGY, CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF THE ROCKS IN THE DACIAN AND PONTIAN COAL-BEARING FORMATIONS OF THE EASTERN AREA OF THE DACIAN BASIN.

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Eugen-Laurentiu Niculici)

Pontian and Dacian formations in the eastern area of the Dacian Basin are represented by a succession of poorly consolidated clay, sand and sandstones, formed in dulcicol, low deep environment. This is evidenced by the existence in these rocks of characteristic fossils for this type of environment. In gray clay rocks sometimes black charcoal clay enclaves are found. Some alternate layers of metric thick layers of clay, sandy clay and clayey sands with charcoal intervals of thickness from a few centimeters to almos...

THE MINERALOGICAL, GEOCHEMICAL, MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF ALKALINE BASALTS AND ASSOCIATED ROCKS FROM THE SOUTHERN AREA OF THE PERSANI MOUNTAINS. USE OF THIS DATA IN THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING OF THE GEOLOGY OF THIS REGION.

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Eugen-Laurentiu Niculici)

Alkaline basalts in the southern area of the Persani Mountains are of particular interest for studying the tectonic evolution of the area at the end of Neogen and the beginning of the Quaternary. It is also very important the existence of an important amount of ultra-basic xenolites in these rocks. These xenoliths provide important information about lithology, chemistry, and the evolution of the lithospheric mantle in the area. For this purpose, we analyzed 30 samples of both basalts and xenolite samples. The samp...

USE OF MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY DATA FOR THE LITOLOGYCAL ANALYSIS AND TO ESTABLISH THE SEDIMENTATION RATE IN A HYDROGRAPHICAL BASIN FROM THE SUB-CARPATHIAN AREA OF ROMANIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Eugen-Laurentiu Niculici, Agata-Monica Sandulescu)

The use of magnetic susceptibility data in order to determine the lithology of river and lakes deposits has become an efficient and rapid method of analyzing sedimentary material. This paper aims to achieve both a more accurate determination of sediment lithology based on the study of the magnetic susceptibility of the cores extracted from the bottom of the rivers, as well as the rate of deposition. The sediment lithology and the deposition rate represent the most important information for the characterization of ...
