This paper is a sequence that is part of the extensive analysis of the Danube Delta genesis. Sacalin island is a territory formed in the Black Sea, a short distance from the Romanian coast, in the south of the Saint Gheorghe branch of the Danube Delta, the main source of transport for alluviums. The history of this new territory is relatively recent. The first mention was in 1771. In 1856, Captain Thomas Spratt made a new map, in which the island of Sacalin appeared with two submerged nuclei. In 1924, Romanian res...

ON THE STUDY OF THE NEW TERRITORIES DYNAMICS FORMATION IN THE DANUBE DELTA

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Gabriel Popescu, Leonard Domnisoru, Eugen Gavan)

The Danube Delta dynamics formation and expansion represent the motivation of the study included in this paper. The results of soil studies made possible to develop the Danube Delta genesis maps [7]. That informationпїЅs are the input data and the validation data for the numerical flow studies of the Danube River. The study of the formation of new territories has been developed by the Computational Fluid Dynamics (C.F.D.) method. There were modelled in three dimensions the maps for Danube River Basin flowing into ...

THE INFLUENCE OF BARGES ANCHORAGES ON THE NAVIGABLE CHANNEL

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-11-20, Gabriel Popescu, Alina Modiga)

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors of influence in alluvial deposits due to the anchoring of barges in the vicinity of river ports. The problem of analysis was identified at the anchorage of the barges near the Galati Mineral Harbor on the Danube River. The area of the navigable channel located downstream of the mineral port is affected by alluvial deposits. Major problems occur in the summer months, when Danube waters are very low. Analysis of these issues was done with the SolidWorks Flow modu...
