FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE GRAVIMETRY DETECTION OF LARGE-SCALE BYPASSED OIL AREAS IN A RESERVOIR, USING NUMERICAL MODELLING

(STEF92 Technology, 2021-12-20, Vladislav Sudakov, N. Launay, Yuliya Gubaydullina, Damir I. Khasanov, Ilnur Bagmanov)

Estimation of the Remaining Oil Saturation (ROS, the fraction of pore volume occupied by oil at a given location and time) in a reservoir is one of the key processes in oil field monitoring and exploitation. Because of the various geological, structural, and chemical heterogeneities that exist within the formations composing an oil field, the evolution of ROS as the reservoir gets drained will be heterogeneous as well. Such discrepancies can occur at different scales, from the microscopic (pore size) to the macros...

INTEGRATION OF THE SEISMIC AND GEOCHEMISTRY DATA TO EVALUATE HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL OF THE CARBONATE RESERVOIRS IN TATARSTAN, RUSSIA

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Ilnur BAGMANOV)

The article describes the results of the integration of the geochemical and seismic data on one of the oilfields of Tatarstan Republic in Russian Federation. The complex geological structure of the oil bearing formations of Carboniferous age results in misinterpretation of the geophysical data and drilling of the dry wells. Some potential structural oil traps find from the seismic data interpretation are water bearing. To avoid nonproductive drilling authors studied seismic faults and their connection with the geo...
