This paper presents the results of a study of the hydrolysis of microcrystalline cellulose in a subcritical water medium. The influence of temperature, time, cellulose/water ratio, cellulose particle size, and other parameters on the hydrolysis process was studied. The influence on the process of pretreatment of aqueous dispersions of cellulose with ultrasound was studied. It was shown that the optimal processing time is 30 min (~ 150 kJ).
