USE OF GEOMATIC TECHNOLOGIES IN LAND SURFACE ANALYSIS - CASE STUDY A.T.U. BARZAVA, ARAD COUNTY

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Cosmin Popescu, Mihai Valentin Herbei, Adina Horablaga, Codruța Bădăluță-Minda, F. Sala)

Remote sensing techniques are increasingly used in land surface monitoring processes. The development of satellite systems has led to increasingly complex research in terms of analysis and monitoring of large land areas, with reduced costs and high efficiency. In this research, a satellite scene from 03.07.2024 taken over by the Landsat 9 remote sensing system was used, the scene identifier being LC09_L2SP_186028_20240730_20240731_02_T1, WRS_PATH 186 and WRS_ROW 28, UTM projection system, Datum WGS84, Ellipsoid WG...

USE OF SATELLITE IMAGES IN MONITORING PROCESSES

(STEF92 Technology, 2025-08-15, Roxana Claudia Herbei, Simona Cucailă, Mihai Valentin Herbei, Adrian Şmuleac, Cosmin Dragomir)

The use of remote sensing images in territorial analyses is increasingly used with the development of remote sensing systems. Due to the fact that there are numerous remote sensing systems, both open source and paid, these instruments are widely used in monitoring large areas in order to analyze the dynamics of land use changes. In the present study, an analysis of the ATU Moravita, Timis County, Romania, was carried out based on remote sensing images taken from the Landsat 8 satellite system. Based on the 11 spec...

LIDAR DATA ACQUISITION AND MEASUREMENT ACCURACY IN QC TOOLS USING MOBILE MAPPING SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

(STEF92 Technology, 2024-12-15, Adrian Şmuleac, Laura Șmuleac, Cosmin Popescu, Mihai Valentin Herbei, Raul Pașcalău)

The work aims to acquire LiDAR data and checking the scan quality in QC Tools for Sanmihaiu Roman hydro technical arrangement located on the Bega Canal, Timis County, Romania, using mobile scanning technology MMS - Mobile Mapping System, using portable backpack equipment from Swiss manufacturer Leica, the Pegasus Backpack model. The Method of LiDAR Data Collection is a Fused Slam one, where, a Master Station has been located for the purchase of RiNEX data, using some GNSS receiver, the Leica GS 08. The raw data pr...

METHODS OF ACHIEVEMENT THEMATIC MAPS

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-11-15, Roxana Claudia Herbei, Mihai Valentin Herbei)

A thematic map contains a spatial database that allows the user to add new information to that database. The ability to combine a variety of datasets in a variety of ways makes any GIS a useful tool for almost any field of knowledge. From routinely performing work-related tasks to scientifically exploring the complexity of our world, GIS offers people the geographic advantage of becoming more productive, more aware, and more receptive to the planet Earth. A GIS can be defined as a system designed to capture, store...

MODELS FOR DESCRIBING THE DYNAMICS OF FOREST VEGETATION BASED ON REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUES

(STEF92 Technology, 2022-12-27, Ciprian Buzna, Marinel Nicolae Horablaga, Mihai Valentin Herbei, F. Sala)

The study analyzed forest vegetation in the "Bazos Dendrological Park" area, Timis County, Romania, in order to describe the seasonal variation of the vegetation through imaging analysis based on satellite images (Sentinel 2). The study took place in the period 2021-2022, and each year 7 sets of images (T1 - T7) were taken between the months of April and August. NDMI, NDVI and NBR indices were calculated from the analysis of satellite images. Among the calculated indices, very strong correlations were found betwee...

ECO - PEDOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE LAND BY CORRELATING SATELLITE METHODS AND SOIL ANALYSIS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Roxana Claudia Herbei, Radu Bertici, Daniel Dicu, Adina Horablaga, Mihai Valentin Herbei)

The purpose of this study is to provide information about technical and fertility characteristics of soils for orchards conversion. Based on satellite images, there were calculate a series of normalized differential indexes resulting from some operations with the spectral bands, meaning they are obtained based on multispectral images (with several spectral bands). Through specific operations, it is aimed to amplify spectral signatures in the band where one particular object has the highest reflectance and diminish...
