The Apuseni Mountains are located in the western part of Romania and are limited to the west by the contact with Pannonian Depression and to the east by the Transylvanian Basin. Basically To the south Apuseni Mountains are bounded by the South Transylvanian Fault and in the northern part by the North Transylvanian Fault.
