A NOVEL MODULAR METHOD FOR INTENSIFICATION PLANNING

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Ádám Pásztor)

The oil price crisis has changed the way how we treat our producing wells. Nowadays production intensification is not just a possible option to increase the flow rate of wells with poor performance, but a treatment we must consider for every well to achieve ultimate productivity. However, before the actual treatment a series of different steps are necessary to take, such as candidate selection, method selection, treatment planning and decision making. These steps require the cooperation of different personnel, mos...

METHOD TO CALCULATE APPARENT PERMEABILITY OF HYDRAULIC FRACTURES

(STEF92 Technology, 2019-06-20, Ádám Pásztor)

Hydraulic fracturing is one of the most widely and commonly applied production intensification method in the petroleum industry. The procedure?s main aim is to increase the contact area between the reservoir rock and the production system resulting in elevated productivity. In order to prevent the complete closure of the induced fractures the application of so-called proppant agents is obligatory. The size, shape, distribution and number of the proppants remained after the closure will affect the tortuosity and av...

EFFECT OF MICROFRACTURES ON FILTRATION

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Ádám Pásztor)

It is obvious that the presence of microfractures in a porous medium increases its permeability. What is unclear is the magnitude of this effect, as it cannot be calculated directly. With the assumption that the fractures are small channels, it is possible to calculate the permeability of a fracture at a given state. In 2018 Pasztor proved that under laboratory conditions the flow will be laminar in the channels, hence the fracture density can be easily determined from simple laboratory measurements (with the ?per...

PRESSURE DROP THROUGH PERFORATION CHANNELS

(STEF92 Technology, 2018-06-20, Ádám Pásztor)

The perforation channels are the only conduits between the reservoir in production and the producing well, so it is quite obvious that their parameters seriously affect the productivity. Under this highly volatile oil price environment aiming for the best productivity has the highest priority. For this reason, the need for understanding the effect of the perforation parameters on the inflow is urgent. In the previous years, Pasztor has proposed a new concept to calculate the pressure drop caused by the perforation...

A SIMPLE METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING THE PERFORATION DESIGN OF GEOTHERMAL WELLS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Adam Pasztor Student, A. N. Toth)

In 2016 Pasztor and Schultz[1] proposed an analytical method for calculating a perforation designпїЅs effect on hydrocarbon-well inflow, using a new concept to analyze the effect of the shape of the perforation channelsпїЅ drainage area. The method compares well with standard industrial methods used to calculate the pressure drop caused by a given perforation design. In 2017 Toth and Pasztor[2] applied their model to investigate geothermal-well inflow, and achieved promising results. The modelпїЅs complexity makes...

GEOTHERMAL SURVEY IN HUNGARY

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, A. N. Toth, A. V. Pasztor)

Hungary is well known for its geothermal potential, used mostly for spas. Where geothermal is used for energy production, it is mostly in the form of a direct heat supply for heating housing projects and businesses. Currently, no geothermal power-plant is operating in Hungary. Neither is the ground-source heat-pump market very strong, maybe because of HungaryпїЅs depressed economy, which still hasnпїЅt recovered from the global recession. All the same, a few large-scale projects are underway. Their realization is ...

MAPPING THE ECONOMIC DATA - CASE STUDIES AND BEST PRACTICES

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Paszto, Jaroslav Burian, Burian, Karel MackЕЇ)

Economists usually apply quantitative methods for analysing economic data. Most of this data has a connection to a particular place or space. In geography, the location plays a crucial role, and together with attributes of such location it represents geospatial data. Collaborative work of economists and geographers (geoinformaticians) offer great opportunities in geospatial-economic data analysis and visualisation. Joining two relatively distinct disciplines brings added value for both economy and geography. In ot...

REFLECTIVE 2D VISUALIZATION OF 3D OBJECTS USING CARTOGRAPHIC PROJECTION

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, Mgr. Tomas Kralik, Mgr. Vit Paszto, Detlef Olschewski)

In this contribution, the authors describe a novel method of visualizing any 3D object into a 2D seamless picture with the use of cartographical principles. The method uses properties of a sphere with reflective inner surface, in which a 3D object and capturing camera are placed. A sphere surface is consequently unfolded using cartographic projection allowing to see the whole object in 2D. The method can be applied to any objects, preferably those of non-human origin, e.g. trees with leaves, cave systems, EarthпїЅ...
