This work presents a mechanical and physical characterization of rock material from different slopes located in the town of Coimbra (Central Portugal) and its adjacent areas. The slopes are designated by numbers from 1 to 7. Slopes 1 and 2 are placed in Lower Jurassic Formations. Slope 1 is composed by marly limestones and marls. The aim of this work is to study the erosion and stability of rock cliffs. The selected sites are located in the Cuio and Kalohanda areas from the southern sector of the Baia-Farta municipality, on the coast of the Province of Benguela, central-western Angola. The fourteen studied sites are situated nearby fishing villages and present two distinct climate seasons: the rainy season and the dry season.
