CONTAMINATION OF WATER-SATURATED SANDY-CLAY SOILS IN THE UNDERGROUND SPACE OF MEGALOPOLISES AND ITS CONNECTION TO BUILDINGS LONG-TERM STABILITY (THE CASE STUDY OF SAINT-PETERSBURG)

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, R.E. Dashko, Y.A. Lebedeva)

The paper considers the main natural and technogenic factors forming the ecological state of the underground space and its influence on the long-term stability of buildings in such megalopolises as Saint Petersburg. Various contamination sources of Saint Petersburg underground environment, including sandy-clayey sediments, groundwater, gases of different genesis, microorganisms, as well as above-ground and underground structures, are analysed. Peculiar natural and technogenic processes, which activation or develop...

ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL AND GEOECOLOGICAL SUBSTANTIATION OF MINING SAFETY AT A UNIQUE DEPOSIT OF HIGH-GRADE IRON ORES (KURSK MAGNETIC ANOMALY, RUSSIA)

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, R. E. Dashko, Ivan Alekseev)

Among unique deposits of high-grade iron ores (HGIO) of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly those that are referred to the Belgorod group are ranked as outstanding. One of them, located in the Central European part of Russia, is known as the YakovlevпїЅs underground mine. Its singularity is resulting from following circumstances: 1) high quality of ores, in which iron content exceeds 65%; 2) genesis of HGIO that are originating from ancient crust of jaspilites chemical weathering and appear to be an extremely fine-grained ...

ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF NEGATIVE EFFECTS ASSOTIATED WITH CONTAMINATION OF DISPERSE SOILS BY OIL PRODUCTS

(STEF92 Technology, 2017-06-20, R.E. Dashko, IVAN LANGE)

The paper considers main factors of oil hydrocarbons transformation and migration in underground medium. Influence of oil products on changes in redox and acid-alkaline conditions of underground space, as well as on intensification of various forms of microorganisms is shown. Composition and physical-mechanical properties transformation of disperse soils with different water saturation levels are experimentally studied. Failure causes of residual fuel oil storage are analysed. Role of microbial activity in formati...
