The article analyzes the electricity needs of the University Politehnica of Bucharest campus, consisting of 10 faculty buildings and 18 students? accommodation buildings. This work establishes the maximum power consumption and proposes a solution through a micro smart grid with a photovoltaic power plant. The solutions proposed aim to increase the efficiency of the energy consumption. This objective is the basis of a project proposal with European funds, under preparation, in order to implement the solution proposed. This micro smart grid has been configured to operate autonomously all the time, with an installed power higher than the necessary average power, estimated at 4400 kW, so the connection to the national energy network is made only for special cases. The technical solution proposed will complete the existing micro-grid on the Electrical Engineering Faculty terrace, which at this time provides approximately 300 kW of the installed power. The article also refers to the intelligent connections with the Titanium Smart Metering Platform, which helps to improve energy efficiency and manages the smart micro-grid involving end-users.
