The paper is focused on literature review from the scientific works in area of utilization of biomass in agglomeration process. Actual environmental potential of biomass, as well as its availability, emphasizes the importance of this topic. The composition and properties of biomass differs from the fossil fuels. It is important to view on utilization of biomass in agglomeration process in wired then ecological context. Technological and economical parameters are also important for its utilization. The type pf the biomass, coke substitution ratio, are key parameters for fusion technology, as well as for final agglomerate quality. The latest researches in the field highlights the need of different approaches to biomass adjustment, before it can be put into agglomeration mixture. In the analysed studies several sintering processes were described with different biomass sources (raw biomass, carbonized and subsequently briquetted straw, composite fuel made from a mixture of weakly coking coal and carbonized straw, or by application of various additives to the surface of the biomass in order to improve its surface properties.) The paper analysis each study and indicates the importance of development of reducing agents from available renewable sources.
