We present the results of the use of geo-information management of geographically distributed systems for the comparative assessment of environmental criteria for alternative routes of the Russian section of the Nord Stream ? 2 marine gas pipeline. For the planned anthropogenic impact, we consider the complex of biotic and abiotic parameters of ecosystems allocated in the zones of influence (ZI), using the system analysis as a theoretical basis. In the land part of ZI, we allocate water protection zones and coastal protective strips of water bodies, specially protected natural areas, cultural heritage sites, infrastructure of settlements and land transport routes. In the marine part of the ZI, we allocate navigable routes, anchorages, areas of dangerous navigation and limited access due to the activities of the Navy, areas of intersection with the existing marine infrastructure (cables and pipelines), fishing areas, areas of dangerous exogenous geological processes and hydrological phenomena (degassing of gas-saturated deposits, ice plowing of the bottom, erosion activity of bottom currents, slope and coastal processes). In the article, we present the results of environmental risk studies for alternative versions of the Russian section of Nord Stream ? 2 in normal mode and while potential accidents. Also, we assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the developed system of comparative evaluation of route variants and draw conclusions on the choice of the recommended version for the Russian section of Nord Stream-2.
