The article deals with solutions for the management and maintenance of sewer networks and prevention of failures and accidents that arise on these large systems. In connection with ensuring the reliable operation of drainage systems for the urbanized area, the most recent issue of the renewal of these large-scale systems has become more and more frequent. Many of the sewer networks and their accessories today are not only at the limit of their theoretical life, but some sewer networks have already exceeded this limit. Such structures have increasingly begun to display more and more failures and accidents, particularly in the form of leakages, which owners and operators are trying to solve by constant repairs, often improvised. However, these repairs do not usually solve the problem of individual constructions, but only displace it and accumulate its later intensity. It is therefore necessary to tackle this problem with existing networks responsibly and carefully in order to maintain their sustainable development.
