DRINKING WATER QUALITY CONTROL IN THE CONSTANTA COUNTY FROM ROMANIA

According to the international norms developed by the World Health Organization, water potability depends on physical and chemical factors, the absence of toxic substances and the elimination of pathogens. Water supply systems must be authorized and provide drinking water in the required amount and of a quality that complies with the legal requirements in force, so as not to affect the health of consumers. Qualitative and quantitative measurements are needed from time to time to constantly monitor the quality of water from the various sources of supply. [1]
To evaluate the water quality from Constanta County, there were analyzed the general chemical indicators monthly average values. Qualitative and quantitative measurements were performed in Central Laboratory of "BIOTERRA" University of Bucharest with approved and efficient laboratory equipment. The drinking water quality was checked according to the methods provided by international standards and the drinking features are meet the national legislation in force that is in concordance with the requirements of the Drinking Water Directive intended for human consumption (Council Directive 98/83/EC/1998). |
