The contribution is focused on asphalt mixtures in wearing courses of pavements from the point of view of their performance based, road user properties and traffic noise emissions. In the article there are described the options and examples of objectification of pavement surfaces influence on traffic noise. The author's inform about the condition of pavement with wearing course from SMA 11 (Stone Mastic Asphalt) asphalt mixture which was constructed on expressway R1 from grade-separated junction of Zvolen in the direction of Bansk? Bystrica in Slovakia in 2008. Within the objective road section, the verification test section has been built, which is located in the right traffic lane in-cluding hard shoulders. The wearing course of this test section is constructed using the bitumen modified with crumb rubber granulate from used car tires. A visual inspection of the test section and objectified measurements of noise emissions from road transport by the SPB method according to EN ISO 11819-1 were performed. Noise reduction by using an asphalt wearing course with rubber modified bitumen was verified and com-pared to objectified measurements from 2011.
