This research paper seeks to study the phreatic groundwater body from the Buz?u river alluvial fan. This goal is reached by creating a numerical model associated to a previously created conceptual model.
The conceptual model was realized in three stages. Initially, a spatial schematization of the hydrostructure was created using the lithology collected while executing the hydrogeological boreholes.
The second step consisted in studying the variation of the hydrogeological parameters in the hydrostructure. The parameters were determined using samples collected during the execution of the hydrogeological borehole and the results of the pumping tests.
After understanding the phreatic aquifer in the Buz?u River alluvial fan, a hydrodynamic schematization was performed. The result is a map that presents the variation of the hydraulic head elevations. It was created using measurements collected on the Buz?u and C?lm??ui rivers, as well as measurements made in the hydrogeological boreholes. All the data that was interpolated, was collected between 18 and 19 of July, 2017. The boundary conditions of the numerical model were established in this stage.
The numerical model was created using FREEWAT, a free and open source platform that is integrated in QGis. It consists of a single layer, representing the phreatic aquifer, and it was run in a steady-state regime. At this stage the model was created to reflect, as accurate as possible, the hydrostructure in the Buz?u River alluvial fan, but will be later used in determining the effects of anthropogenic activities on groundwater.
