In order to carry out the lignite extraction activity, the quarries in Oltenia basin occupy land areas, which before the exploitation had another destination. From the researches carried out it was found that the most occupied areas are the woodlands. The most affected will be M?t?sari locality with the neighboring villages (Br?det, Runcurel, M?t?sari, Croici), of which 341 households (274 households from Runcurelu village, 60 households from the village of Croici, 5 houses from M?t?sari and 2 households from Br?det village), a cemetery, a school, a church (all from Runcurel village), Motru town with the belonging villages - Ro?iu?a, ?tirbet, Lupoi?a and Plo?tina, of which, due to the extension of Ro?iu?a and Lupoaia will have to be displaced by 103 households and a cemetery (belonging to Ro?iu?a village), C?t?nele commune, due to the extension of Lupoaia quarry, 96 households, a cemetery and a church (belonging to Lupoaia village) and Slivile?ti commune, due to the extension of South Jil? and Ro?iu?a quarries will have to be displaced by 6 households (5 households from ?tiucani village and one from Micule?ti village).
