The aim of research was to develop technical conditions for theproduction of biodegradable polymer films with usage of native and modified maize starches. The expected effect is the expansion of the range of modifying components for biodegradable polymeric products based on low density polyethylene and the reduction of pollutants emissions into the environment. It was determined a ratio of components for the production of thermoplastic starch (TPS) and parameters of extrusion processing of polyethylene and plasticizers (glycerin, sorbitol). It was developed a method to preparation biodegradable hybrid composition (BHC) with TPS as an intermediate product for a polymer film. Taking into account standard values of the maximum stress and the duration of destruction physico- mechanical characteristics of films with different ration of components and effect from ultrasound treatment were studied. During the storage of BHC and films in biohumus their physical and mechanical properties were determined and microstructures of polyethylene-starch compositions obtained at different temperatureswere studied. The obtained data revealed an accelerated decomposition of polymer products caused by the uniform distribution of micro-particles in the melt and the degradation of a polymer matrix formulation when subjected to ultrasound waves.
