In Poland there are 12 millions of households. Many people from these households, thanks to the changing legal regulations, pro-ecological actions, started to understand that their way of living and running their houses can have an influence on the natural environment. They began to think and act in an ecological way. The ecological way of living does not mean a large-scale operations, such as installing solar panels, building an eco-friendly, passive house. Simple activities such as thoughtful shopping, segregation of rubbish, economical use of water, electricity and heat, reusable packaging are enough to have an impact on the natural environment. Care for the natural resources, energy and health conditions enables harmonious coexistence with the nature. However, the most important thing is to understand such a need, and then develop a habit of living in an ecological way. It is worth to introduce the principle of 3R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle into our everyday life. The purpose of the paper is to examine the experiences and habits of Polish residents in terms of running a household in an ecological way. The survey took the form of an online survey. The study was conducted in June-December 2017. Thanks to the survey, it was possible to take a look at the habits of Polish people in the aspect of eco-friendly housekeeping.
