|
The article introduces systems theory in evaluating and forecasting environ-geotechnical hazards in the central area of Hanoi city. The advantage of the theory is that it includes all the conditional factors and causes of the hazards, as well as the relationship between the factors. The role of each factor is quantified and summarized by mathematical formulas, which can produce an accurate evaluation of hazards status and reliable forecast. The systems theory applied in evaluating and forecasting environ-geotechnical hazards in areas with simple or complex geological foundation can produce the most accurate results.
