The contribution deals with the mathematical literacy of future engineers in the context of Industry 4.0. Even in this advanced stage of automation and robotization, there are situations in the production process where we cannot do without a human factor. No machine is and will never be so perfect as to replace human activity completely. But people have to be prepared for this situation both theoretically and practically. There is an example of practice in this contribution, which demonstrates, why knowledge of mathematic is so important especially for the future engineers. This is the reason why a great emphasis should be put on mathematics at all technically directed schools. No machine is and will never be so perfect to do absolutely without human?s help. The demonstration example is analyzed and special application in Delphi was created. In the Industry 4.0 all non-qualified work will be replaced by machines, automates and robots. Therefore only highly educated people can be used. People of low education will stand aside.
