The ambition of universities is the implementing of new progressive teaching methods using state-of-the-art technical equipment. The general aim of modern teaching methods is to provide students with the widest range of information channels that can be used to obtain information and data. Students are specifically challenged to use this information. Based on this, students acquire their gained knowledge. This modern model prefers current pedagogy. One of the projects focusing on new trends in teaching is the project called "Technique for the Future". The aim of the presented project is to develop a methodology and scenarios for the use of simulation and training technologies in the study of safety issues at the Faculty of Safety Engineering, VSB - Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. The present paper foretells new possibilities of using modern technologies in the study of safety management among all offered study fields, which are taught at the Faculty of Safety Engineering.
