The article discusses the importance of verbal communication monitoring in the process of foreign language learning and teaching. The aim of this study is to propose a theoretical justification and experimental verification of the effectiveness of the monitoring algorithm of students? verbal communication in the foreign language classroom. The research focuses on the following tasks: to develop and experimentally validate effective components of the monitoring algorithm of verbal communication of students and to identify the pedagogical conditions which provide implementation of the proposed algorithm. In the study we used theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the research problem, theoretical and practical analysis of pedagogical monitoring methods, an interview, a survey, pedagogical monitoring students? educational activities, summative and formative experiments. The results obtained showed that under observance of all stages of monitoring algorithm, students? motivation increases, confidence in their language proficiency rises, readiness to use it in their future professional sphere grows, and the number of independent learning activities increases.
