Miniaturization of microwave devices, such as directional couplers, filters, switches,
etc., is an important practical problem due to the trend of integration of portable and
small high-frequency electronics. In this paper, we consider the technology of
developing a miniature microstrip device, which can be used in small space satellites
and other aircraft, for which mass and dimensions are important. Modeling was carried
out in the program for electrodynamics analysis of radio electronic devices in the NIAWR Design Environment program 13. Thus, with the help of meta-structures, a
compact crossover design was developed whose area is 70.1% smaller compared to its standard analogue, while retaining characteristics in a wide band frequencies. The
manufactured prototype, and its measured characteristics, confirm the operability of the
device. With a more dense arrangement of the elements to each other, there is a reduction in the permissible input power to the input of the device. However, for
reception devices this is not critical, and also in small spacecrafts, the power is supplied from solar panels, and therefore the power at the inputs of radio electronic devices will not be large.
