The reinforcement of ceramic composites with the help of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is
used to increase and stabilize the mechanical properties of composites based on silicon carbide, such as strength, fracture toughness and modulus of elasticity. To save the properties and reduce the synthesis temperature of ceramics based on silicon carbide, an aluminum-magnesian spinel is introduced into the matrix. A nanocomposite with a matrix of silicon carbide (SiC) and spinel (MgAl2O4) and with a CNT content of 1-3% by weight was synthesized by the method of spark plasma sintering (SPS).Based on the results of studies of the properties of the obtained samples of a ceramic SiC-CNT composite, it can be noted that the porosity depends on the amount of CNTs
and the holding time. The constructed mathematical model describes the change in
porosity during the process of plasma plasma sintering of the composite. The
mathematical model contains kinetic constants that take into account the influence of
the physical parameters of the various stages of sintering. This mathematical model
makes it possible to perform numerical experiments to determine the optimum
temperature regime of sintering. The research is supported by the Ministry of Education
and Science of the Russian Federation, agreement 14.574.21.0158, project ID
