More and more scientific research studies have shown that plant extracts can act as a potential mediator for the synthesis of nanoparticles. The plant extracts are efficiently used in the synthesis of ecological metallic nanoparticles such as silver, gold, zinc, copper, palladium, platinum, cobalt, titanium, etc. Furthermore, it has been proved that plant extract-based nanoparticles are a potential remedy for various human and plant diseases. The use of nanotechnology in agriculture has been intensely debated and sustained at the theoretical level. The effects of this technology are particularly special in combating insect pests in farming systems and evidence are focused on increasing food production in this natural ecological system. The large-scale synthesis of biomaterials with applications in the biomedical field through the use of processes and formulations based on biomimetics and the use of biological processes has opened new directions of research. This complex research brings together significant knowledge of physics, chemistry, biology and technological sciences in an applied field. This article presents the development of biological production of nanoparticles using plant extracts and the role of eco-nanotechnology in reducing and / or eliminating the use and production of hazardous substances.
